The wider employer skills offer

The wider employer skills offer
As part of the Government’s Skills Campaign, the Train to Gain service can put you in touch with a range of related services.  We’ll help you understand and take advantage of all the training options available to you – from colleges and training providers to services from the Government, charities and higher education institutions.

“Our future. It’s in our hands.” That’s the inspiration for the Government’s Skills Campaign. For your business to succeed in the competitive global economy, your employees need more skills than ever before. And with the help of a range of support services those skills are within your reach.

Train to Gain is one of the key services offered as part of the Skills Campaign. Through it you’ll meet a Business Link Adviser, college or training provider who will help you take advantage of all the other services available.

For example, your independent Business Link Adviser, college or training provider might help you make the Skills Pledge a public commitment to training, showing your staff and your customers that you’re serious about skills.Or you can go online and follow a simple 4 stage process to make the Skills Pledge independently.

These are just a few more examples of the services Train to Gain can help you access:

  • Apprenticeships Combinations of on-the-job and off-site training – a great way to get employees with relevant practical skills.
  • Basic skills High-quality courses in basic maths and English from a nationally recognised college or training provider.
  • National Skills Academy Network Centres of excellence for employer-led skills training, creating courses of direct relevance to different business sectors.
